ESPN will present for the first time a delayed telecast of the 1983 Rose Bowl game, the 69th edition of that prestigious matchup.

Jim Simpson, Bud Wilkinson, and Herb Brown will be on hand.

It's the granddaddy of them all, UCLA and Michigan.

Yeah, remember earlier in the year, UCLA beat Michigan, came from behind, 21 points down to beat Michigan at, beat Michigan in Ann Arbor.

His brother Hubie was the Hall of Famer, but Coach Herb Brown was a Suns assistant in '87.

I don't think there was a team that Herb Brown wasn't an assistant coach in the NBA for at least once.

I do remember this, 'cause I thought it was so cool to have such an accomplished guy as a Suns assistant.

Um, not just an, an NBA assistant, but, uh, one of the biggest international coaching assistants of all time, like Maccabiah Games, Olympic Games, USA Basketball, overseas, a ton of different teams.

Herb Brown is 90 and still going strong.
