Henry Bolte

And there was a lot of doubt amongst the legal fraternity as to Ryan's culpability.

But I think at the end of the day, the premier of the day, Henry Bolte, was determined that he was going to be convicted and that he would hang.

And he was convicted, wasn't he? On the 30th of March, he was convicted of murder.

And even though the judge didn't actually agree with capital punishment, is my understanding, he was obligated to sentence him to death.

I think the crux of the matter with public housing is that It's government, and government's mismanaged all those years.

I mean, Henry Bolte, when the whole public housing in Victoria came about, the whole concept was to get rid of the slums in Collingwood and North Melbourne, et cetera, give people a leg up, but it was never designed to be a permanent thing.

And Debney Park in Flemington just illustrates it's intergenerational.

You've got generation after generation, and people see it as their right.
