Hello, Dolly!

But I do remember driving and seeing the first billboard I had ever seen for a musical comedy.

It was for Hello Dolly.

Wow.

I think

it was Hello Dolly.

And it was, oh, wow.

You know, that was, I wasn't scared.

I love singing, just tying it in with the stagy world.

She does a fantastic Hello Dolly.

And Hello Dolly is like my favourite musical of all time.

So I love giving that a go.

Because

telling me this on the pod five years

ago.

It always comes back to Hello Dolly.

She's not pimping out the ponies.

She just dresses like Hello Dolly.

Maybe.

I don't know.

I've had a couple of opportunities over the last, you know, few years.

I was in a production of Hello Dolly with the word players a few years ago down at the Bijou, which was great.

I serve on their board and always love to work with those folks.

But the last time I was on the Clarence Brown stage was in 2018 in an oddly titled musical called Urinetown.

Downton Abbey, tick.

She's also had a huge career on stage, taking on the big Broadway roles and making them her very own, like Gypsy's Mama Rose and Hello Dolly's Dolly Levi, with critics raving, writing reviews like Pint-Sized Powerhouse and One of the Greatest Performances I Have Ever Seen.

Now she's appearing in a new film with a stellar cast, including Bill Nye, Johnny Flynn and George Mackay.

It's called And Sons.

There's no point me being out there telling it unless everyone is in equal measure.

So I feel that's vital to making a great show.

And, you know, with Follies, with Gypsy, with Hello Dolly, the whole company gave the audience hopefully a night to remember.

And for me, that's a very important ingredient.
