Helga Hufflepuff's Cup

So, so we have that.

We have Ron and Hermione going back into the Chamber of Secrets to not only stock up on fangs, but, uh, they end up destroying the Hufflepuff Cup.

So they got one more Horcrux down, and two by the end of this, so two Horcruxes destroyed.

We also have a long time coming, their big first kiss with Ron and Hermione, Alex's favorite part.

Mm-hmm

... of, of what Voldemort likes to do and what kinds of items he would do them to, uh, to, to create horcruxes.

Obviously had the Slytherin locket, obviously had the Hufflepuff cup, would probably be looking for a Ravenclaw item or a Gryffindor item.

Uh, knew that he, when he came back to the school, he, it was probably to try to get his hands on one of those items.

Okay.

The diary, the Gaunt ring, the Slytherin locket, the Hufflepuff cup, the Ravenclaw diadem, and his snake, Nagini.

Those six external containers, plus the piece of soul remaining in his own body, equals a perfectly balanced, magically robust seven-part soul.

But the tragedy, and the brilliant mechanical twist of lore, is that he failed at math.
