Attorney general, Kim A'Hearn will be your next attorney general, and, uh, that wasn't my choice.

Looks like unless people come out for Ken Block, looks like Helena Foulkes will be your next governor.

Now, I like Ken Block, so I find myself definitely attracted to his campaign.

He's an independent, I'm an independent.

The primary was never really a race.

And as much as the media wanted it to be a race between Governor McKee and Atlanta folks.

And Justin, I'm trying to be objective and try to find some argument that there is Some path for either Ken Block or Aaron Goukian to give her a serious run.

I want to hear your thoughts on this.

And Block, I mean, over the years he's been involved, he's burned so many bridges with people who, who should back him, who won't.

And at this point he's really just another version of Helena Foulkes to a lot of those people.

So w- if you're gonna vote for him, might as well vote for her, you know, or just throw a protest vote to Kukian or, or not vote in that race at all.

Even if you just had one of them, um, and I'm trying to be objective because again, I, I know and like both of them, but even if you just had one of them and they had $2 million, they managed to raise one million, and then they managed the matching funds, it's still an uphill battle [laughs] against, uh, Helena Foulkes the way the, the state has br- um, come out.

Last night, for the first time in thirty years, an incumbent Rhode Island governor lost in the Democratic primary.

It was an overwhelming win for challenger Helena Foulkes, a former CVS executive who won sixty-two percent to thirty-eight percent.

And her victory speech included an immediate outreach to voters who didn't vote for her, the kind of outreach Donald Trump has never done.

We may have won the Democratic p- pa- primary for governor, but let me be clear about what happens next.

Lastly, Rhode Island voters just delivered a political plot twist.

Former CBS executive Helena Foulkes, pronounced Foulkes that is, defeated Governor Dan McKee in yesterday's Democratic primary.

It was a rematch from four years ago, uh, when she barely-- he barely beat her in a crowded five-candidate race.

She becomes the first-- or he becomes the first sitting governor nationwide to lose a primary since Kansas governor, uh, did it in 2018.
