Um, and we're gonna kinda be studying, uh, it to see what new and ideas they may be bringing over from Legends into canon for Season 2.

Uh, it'll kinda be a little deep dive into Thrawn and his backstory and stuff.

directly after the panel they were doing a book signing although dragon con likes to be annoying and it was in a completely different hotel so we're walking there and i'm like how are they gonna get here before us there's no way um but so while we were there i did get jacob a gift that he's already seen he doesn't have it yet But I got Timothy Zahn to sign him a copy of Heir to the Empire.

And I would have just a big refresh on everything.

And so I will say that there are some moments with Leah in that first book.

Again, I think that like what Grayson said, she gets better in the other two books by far, but I think that there is some cool stuff there with like, her dynamic with Luke, I think an heir to the empire is really the biggest thing.

Cause like Luke has that struggle of like that fear of training her, even though he knows that he should like, I, um, I very, very vividly have that scene in my head.

And those bits... pull the book back yet the bits i really loved the bits relating to the kind of ongoing dynamic between vin and her powers i loved the building of the character len from the first book who is vin's love interest and ends the first book effectively assuming control of the city And he's sort of working out a new world, weirdly enough, very similar to Star Wars, the first in the Thrawn trilogy.

Oh, what's it called? Heir to the Empire.

Of like, we're following our characters.

Oh, now they're trying to set up a democracy.

At the end of this book, sorry, previously I mentioned Heir to the Empire.

The end of this book is Revenge of the Sith for Erland.

Yeah, let's go into it.

I have been a Timothy Zahn fan since I was probably about nine years old, I guess, which is when I read the Heir to the Empire trilogy.

Having read the Star Wars novelizations when I was about seven, and then I kind of bounced around like the junior Star Wars books.

And then I was like, I could also read these books in the science fiction section.

So I read the Heir to the Empire ones, and those were good.

And then I read the Kevin J. Anderson ones which like tie into the comics it was very confusing and I sort of thought those books weren't as good so you know Zahn I think remained one of the sort of better Star Wars writers and I kept reading the Star Wars books until they did the whole new Jedi Order thing and then I was like I need to stop But in the meantime, I also started reading like way more science fiction and fantasy in general across categories.

Why I didn't really exist so much at that point was kind of just children's and adults and then why I sort of emerged during this process.

Next, we're up to Legacy Collection.

Again, with a comic pack here, we get Grand Admiral Thrawn packaged with Talon card and an Heir to the Empire pack.

This is an all-new Thrawn.

He has a seam down the center of his uniform, which I believe you said was how he was pictured in the comic adaption.

Only in the comic adaption of Dark Force Rising.

So Blanchard and Veloteen did the original Heir to the Empire, which was brilliant.

It was great colors on that.

Now, Terry Dodson did the pencils for Dark Force Rising.

Well, that all, that, that explains a lot.

I just I have to ask, do you have a favorite standout book other than, you know, the Darth Bane trilogy or the Krillian Chronicles, if you will? I mean, is there another one that really when you think of legends, your mind just kind of goes there?

So I think I'm tempted to just say the basic answer of the Thrawn trilogy and Heir to the Empire.

And I do really love those books.

But I think at the time, the ones that really, really got me excited were the X-Wing books as those came out.

And that may be that those were new when I was buying books, as opposed to Thrawn was kind of filling in the back catalog and looking back at Heir to the Empire books.

but, um, the, the Michael Stackpole, the Aaron Alston, and then, um, Michael Stackpole also wrote I Jedi, which is a related book.

And, and I really loved those characters.
