Heimdall

Thanos attacks the Asgardian refugee ship.

He kills Loki and Heimdall.

He defeats Hulk, traps Thor, and takes the Space Stone.

Before Heimdall dies, he sends Hulk back to Earth with a warning.

Thanos is coming.

Meanwhile, Bruce Banner crash lands in Doctor Strange's sanctum and starts trying to convince Tony Stark and Doctor Strange that this is a threat to the entire universe.

But the fact of the matter is that half of the Asgardians escape on transport pods and And half of them are slaughtered in accordance with Thanos' philosophy of like balancing populations.

And the Russo brothers, the directors, later confirmed this.

And I feel like they tell us they're not messing around.

When you kill Heimdall, let's be honest, in the MCU, a relatively minor character played by a very big actor.

And you kill Loki within the first, like, what, five minutes? Oh, and Hulk just got beat down.

Like, they really showed us they weren't messing around.

Technically, it really hasn't come to pass, right? We got a variant of Loki.

We've got a variant of Gamora running around right now.

And even Heimdall we saw in the credit scene of Thor Love and Thunder.

But I expected it to be the final take on some of these characters.

And then, but Hulk shows up, fights him.

Um, Heimdall gets him warped to, to Earth, who's, you know, again, if you watched Thor, you know who he is.

But, like, he gets his ass kicked by Thanos, and then the rest of the movie he's scared to come out, and that's why he doesn't show up again.

Mm-hmm.

Not at all.

Suddenly a lightning storm forms and Thor appears, transported to Earth by Odin and Heimdall's dark magic.

They fixed the Bifrost.

Thor's so dramatic.

There was.

You look like Heimdall looking at Thor Ragnarok just seeing it all.

Yeah.

Going back to it, you mentioned it a little bit, and I know we've seen a lot of this throughout the course of August with a lot of different squad rotations, but you mentioned the next man up mentality, obviously, you know, with the club transferring Luca and him already playing for his new team, we get to see Kieran come into that role and have a really fantastic game and be able to kind of demonstrate that.

When I look up Avengers Doomsday Cast, it shows Idris Elba in it.

As Heimdall? Yeah.

Interesting.

I don't know how that works, but...

It shows that she's in it.

Really? I mean, at least on Google.

So that's why Heimdall's there, because Heimdall greeted her in Valhalla.

Oh, okay.

Everyone's in this movie.

You've got, of course, the core six Avengers, but we've also got Maria Hill plays a substantial role, Nick Fury's showing up, you got Rhodey's in there, Sam Wilson, Erik Selvig, Heimdall, all these people that I'm just like, whoa! The only people we're missing are, like, Jane Foster and Pepper Potts.

Other than that, every Earth-based Phase 2 film is very well represented.

There are even two references to Guardians.
