Heiltsuk

Anyway, my name is Don Wilson.

I'm a member of the Heiltsuk Nation from Bella Bella, British Columbia, in the north central coast of BC, so southern neighbor from your nation.

And currently, I'm actually conversing with you from the unceded traditional territories of the Comox people in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, because that's where I reside and where I do the majority of my work as a physician, as an obstetrician-gynecologist.

My parents were Don Sr. and Elizabeth Wilson from Bella Bella.

And it's very interesting.

I have to do a shout out.

I was the only physician of Heiltsuk descent for pretty much almost 20 years because I graduated med school in 2001.

But two years ago, I finally have another Heiltsuk colleague, Dr. Priscilla Lawson-Pyers.
