Heidi Larsen studies a different but equally important part of pandemic preparedness, whether and how people trust vaccines.

I'm Heidi Larson, and I'm a professor of anthropology and risk and decision science.

And I founded and lead the Vaccine Confidence Project out of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and also associate professor at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, University of Seattle.

Together, Sylvie and Heidi help us understand the two big challenges of the next pandemic, identifying the biological threat and preparing people to respond to it.
