Héctor Rodríguez

It's the same.

Nobody's talking about Hector Rodriguez like that.

Hector Rodriguez played in 41 games.

So let's take a breath with that.

But to your point, if they go and get a bona fide outfielder and then construct an outfielder and begin to like try and find a piece in house, the outfield is moving in a direction and it's a better direction than it's been moving in for four years.

You know, float some.

They also mentioned Hector Rodriguez to trade for him.

One for one, I said, no, thank you.

But they need help in center field.

But especially when you consider the youth coming up, where the Reds have it is in the outfield.

And with Carlos Jorge, with Hector Rodriguez, we need to get these guys, the reps, I think.

And you just kind of don't

need them.

And very similar guys that way.

So I think that's what's going to be interesting.

And, you know, like Hector Rodriguez, who was a good player, player as well.

And it feels younger, you know, just by and a lot of that looseness is good.

The other thing that, that, that bothers me with, uh, Tyson Lewis is he never walks, and I think that aggressive approach is something that we have to keep our eye on.

Number five comes in at Hector Rodriguez.

Uh, we saw him in the major leagues.

It was his breakout in 2025, and continued that in 2026.

Uh, unlike a Alec Bohm situation, I think there's a pretty clear fit where you could see him with the Reds, right? It's just like, you get left field, maybe Bleday goes into some sort of platoon in right or something like that, um, with whoever you may, you know, your...

I know Héctor Rodríguez.

Well, yeah, Héctor Rodríguez also left-handed, so I don't know who that ends up being.

But it's just like, uh, I think that that could be the case.

Um, like- It does worry me that he's 32, you know, and just had his worst season, right? Stuff kind of falls off a cliff.

Um, you know, if you, if you just look at the Reds' profile, you know, there's not a lot of guys that profile as guys that should crush right-handed pitching on the Reds.

You have Elly De La Cruz, you have J.J. Bleday who we're still kinda hoping can.

Like there's nothing really proven about that, and then Héctor Rodríguez.

You'll see anybody who's not on the 40-man roster for every professional baseball team, they'll continue to play.

But for example, Hector Rodriguez, Carlos Jorge, these types of guys, they won't be playing.

In a major league organized system, game.

So no minor leagues.

We have some guys in the minor league system, but it's not like how it was.

I mean, I don't think we're absolutely loaded right now in the minor leagues.

After Hector Rodriguez and Carlos Jorge were promoted at AAA, I don't know if there was anybody else really in AAA that you'd be overly excited about.

Alfredo Duno, catcher, everyone's very excited about him and you should be.

Carlos Jorge is going to be around in some way, shape, or form.

Hector Rodriguez is going to be around in some way, shape, or form.

Key Brian Hayes is going to be around in some way, shape, or form.

Those guys have to reduce their strikeouts.

It's hard not to root for a lot of these guys.

The Reds seem to have a good history of, you know, positioning for high character guys you don't really see too many distractions in cincinnati and if they are a distraction or a threat of one they don't they're not there for long um but will benson was an awesome dude um willie b willie beeman but uh we won't be seeing him in 2026 or 2027 if we play in 2027 that is now who will we be seeing um Carlos Jorge and Hector Rodriguez are two prospects that came up in 2026 that I think have a lot of... can give Reds fans a lot of reason to be excited.

I followed both of them through their entire minor league career as Cincinnati Reds.

When he was first coming up in the Reds minor leagues, there was a lot of hype.

He was a big power speed type of guy and a lot of athleticism in the outfield.

I recall in the minors there was a time where he like scaled up the outfield wall and we did a video comparing it to Bo Jackson you know when he did the the Spider-Man thing and and that's the type of player that Carlos Jorge is uh very exciting he had one down season and so that's why a lot of Reds fans hadn't heard about him but um after that he really turned it around and obviously made his debut um but the player I'm most excited about who's going to get more time in the outfield, of course, whenever the Reds play again, again, I hope it's next year, is Hector Rodriguez, because Hector Rodriguez is a guy who hits the ball.

He puts the ball in play and he gets on base.
