Heavy Metal L-Gaim

And we have returned once more to peer into the delightfully deranged mind of Tomino Yoshiyuki with our Tomino-thon.

That's right, baby, we are back to bring you part two of our Tomino-thon, our season 6B, if you will, of Japanimation Station, where we, uh, in season 6A, the first part of Tomino-thon, covered everything from Tomino's early career up to the mid-'80s with shows like Aura Battler Dunbine and Heavy Metal L-Gaim.

And today we are prepared to inaugurate Season 6B by witnessing the Tears of Time, by looking at The Sign of Zeta beyond the hard times from now.

We're here to talk about some Gundam, Jonathan.

So Tomino and Sunrise meanwhile, though, they're working nonstop.

You've got Xabungle, which becomes Tomino's first full four-course series, 50 episodes, airs in 1983.

That's followed by Aura Battler Dunbine and Heavy Metal L-Gaim, all of which did well.

They each ran a full year, but none of which surpassed Gundam commercially, either on TV or in merchandising.
