Heart and Soul

Hit number one, spent nine weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart, won an Ivor Novello Award, while Revolution hit number 12 in the US.

In 1983, Huey Lewis and the News released Heart and Soul.

It was the lead single from their humongous breakthrough album, Sports, and it propelled the band into the mainstream with superstardom.

It was Heart and Soul, and I think after that, it was I Want a New Drug, and then because of the timing of Back to the Future, Power of Love kicked in, and that was the era of Huey Lewis and the News.

It actually hit number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.

And before you go blaming it for not hitting number one, there was that guy with the white glove who pretty much dominated at that point.

Uh, back when they were, like, debuting videos and made a big deal out of, like, "This is the, the new video from Huey Lewis is coming out," and it was Power or, uh, Heart and Soul.

Mm-hmm.

And just, just, uh, you know, video notwithstanding, just hearing that song, th- that song was just instantly like, okay, they're, they've raised their game.
