Hearse

[laughs] Um, in 1964, they performed the title track for the Columbia Pictures film Ride the Wide Surf- Wild Surf, starring Fabian, Tab Hunter, Peter Brown, Shelley Fabares, and Barbara Eden, which I didn't know she was in that.

Um, now the song I chose is Surfin' Hearse, and- [laughs]

[laughs]

Yes.

But the honeys put us down.

They say she's spooky.

She's my Surfin' Hearse.

She's my Surfin' Hearse.

Well, thank you, man.

So you made some pretty good suggestions, and I was able to track down the Jan and Dean song you wanted, but I'm not sure if you know it, but there's, uh, actually another tune, a different song called Surfin' Hearse.

I'll play it in the set.

The Quads do it.

It was actually released the same year, but it's a different song.

I did find, I think I'm gonna put together, since Halloween is around the corner, and you are the Wolfman, I think we should kick it off with this great Jan and Dean classic from Liberty Records in 1963.

This one's called Surfin' Hearse.

So let's go ahead and get spooky, and at the same time, dear little dragon, let's wish Randy the very best for his Shiny Rust Hot Rod Spectacular.

A little update on some horror-related news in my life.

As some listeners may know, my main motive of transportation is the 92 Cadillac Hearse, affectionately named Nancy.

This summer I took it on over a 3,000 mile road trip down the south and back and along the way we stopped at several major cities and cool attractions.

My favorite destination was the original funeral parlor in South Carolina where my car was serviced 26 years ago.

I went, "This is a chapel." And he's going, "Oh, aye." He had a wee look about and there's nae gates, nothing.

Then the next thing is we parked up, what happens? Hearse comes in.

[laughs]

No.

Alrighty, so these dreams seem kind of interesting.

The first one is titled Driving a Hearse, and this is by Julie.

I was looking for my car and couldn't find it.

I ended up sitting in a vehicle.
