Headless men

It is like a completely unchartered territory as far as we know what's out there, and then Marco Polo comes back with all of these, like, insane ideas of these creatures that were never known to exist or that were very deep in, in ancient culture that had popped up from time to time, and they're all present on the map.

I mean, we're talking about the Blemmye.

It has a human body with a face on the chest.

There is no head.

All right.

The very first cryptid we're talking about today is known as the Blemmyes.

Now, what the Blemmyes were were an actual real nomadic people of lower Nubia who raided Rome and Egypt and set up a kingdom there by the late 4th century AD.

But they kind of morphed into this cryptid of humanoid men with no head at all.

What?

They morphed into a humanoid man with no head.

No, say the name of it one more time.

Blemmyes.
