HB Studio

I went to New York.

I studied at HB Studios.

I came back here.

And then, this is interesting, they asked me, there was a performing arts school in Orange County called the Performers Academy.

I took my time about learning the craft.

I was in Howard Fine's class, which is an equivalent to HB Studios.

It's Uta Hagen.

I was very lucky to get that recommendation, best thing I could have done, for four years.

I think everybody that wants to perform with puppets, I strongly encourage, as my great aunt Clara said, you never regret a good education.

So, no, I did a certificate of theater there.

then I went on I got two Canada Council grants to study one was studying in New York City at HB Studios which was which was a whole year of theater which was wonderful and after that I auditioned for for Fraggle Rock with with Jim Henson and so I just come right from New York City and it got a job on there because I'm very lucky.

Well, excellent.

I would love to, I know we skipped ahead a little bit and I absolutely, I'm going to ask you about Fraggle Rock.

If it's just in your head, nobody else knows but you.

So that's excellent advice.

I do want to ask you about, because you brought up in 1980, you received a Canada Council study grant that took you to New York, where you studied acting at HB Studios, but you also worked on puppet construction with Julie Taymor there as well, correct? Correct.
