He is from my hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.

Went to Hazelwood Central High School.

He played baseball, uh, not at an NCAA baseball program, at NAIA Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri.

For context, they did not sponsor varsity baseball there until 2017 after a three-decade hiatus where that program went away.

First year as a teacher, first year as a coach.

I moved down to St. Louis, Hazelwood Central High School.

A few Iowa fans, that's the same school Marvin McNutt went to.

He was not there when I was there.

Really, really solid, actually.

Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Parkway North, Pattonville, Rittner, and Seckman.

I mean, these are all – I mean, outside of Hayeswood Central, the other five teams have all had really solid seasons over the past few years.
