Hayley Kiyoko

So Tinashe has been getting critical acclaim since her early endeavors in music.

She was briefly in a girl group as well called The Stunners alongside Hayley Kiyoko.

They opened up for Justin Bieber before disbanding in 2011.

And after that, that's when Tinashe began her run of solo records and mixtapes, teaching herself how to make music.

Yes, she does.

[laughs]

Yeah

... of merch shirts.

And the funny thing about these shirts is that the shirt doesn't say Hayley Kiyoko.

It's literally a life-size print of my face.

Femme Fatale.

I was emailing with Tinashe's bestie at the time, and this was when she was in The Stunners with Hayley Kiyoko, and she was breaking out solo.

And I premiered her f-

Was Brad uplifting Tinashe? What?

My guest today turned a three-minute song into a feature film and somehow still finds time to make her own marmalade.

Hayley Kiyoko is the singer-songwriter behind Girls Like Girls, her directorial debut, built from her own song of the same name.

We're talking the film, her love of Japanese food, her enduring obsession with jam and marmalade, and the cooking she grew up with.
