Hawi

So I think that's gonna continue to be the plan for this race.

Um, I, I have thought about my race plan, and it's gonna be above goal watts to Hawi, probably 17.3 watts up to Hawi, zone two coming down, and then whatever I have, I have left for the, the last, I don't know, what is it, like, 35 miles into town.

Um, and then just kinda pray I can make it maybe to mile 22 without completely blowing on the run, um, and kinda, like, walk-jog it in from there.

Um, but I, I have done this race.

Um, and then decided that maybe a marathon in, with a heatstroke wasn't for me.

But I, I do know my limits, and I'm not gonna be a completely asinine individual and just go balls to the wall.

But, um, I think it is really important to go hard at least up to Hawi, and then-

then-On the, the way down where the winds are really bad, um, you know, managing it that way.

So go there for a breakfast, you know, grab something from the farmer's market where all the local farmers and, um, coffee purveyors are, um, bringing, bringing their, um, their product.

And then I would drive up a little further north to Hawi and the birthplace of the king, King Kamehameha.

And there's a, a valley at the end of the road called Koholou, and this is a spiritual valley.

Um, so we always encourage our guests to go there with respect, but it's an incredible hike, um, down to the ocean floor.

Okay.

Lived in Hawi, Hawaii.

What, uh, what, yeah, what island was it?

It was on the Big Island.

Okay.

He lived in Hawi.

He was great.

But I remember just going to him and just saying like, "I don't, this isn't real, right? I don't have to..." 'Cause I just, I didn't wanna do that.
