Actually, it goes a little further back in the early 80s, early to mid 80s.

I worked for the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology as a research technician and doing everything from.

Field research out on a boat south of the equator to working off of a deserted island in French Frigate Shoals to going down in a submersible at about 500 feet, working with bottlenose dolphins, doing language acquisition and and also aquaculture.

So I had a lot of stuff.

I'm a third-year PhD student at the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology, but I'm originally from Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, which is a small town right next to Hershey's Chocolate World, if you know where that is.

But my research broadly is using mathematical models to translate past data from literature and some new data coming in from the field into local management, especially regarding sediment and nutrient effluence into the ocean, and also herbivorous fish management.

An ocean phenomenon that felt deeply personal to me, I, I went on a three-week research cruise in the remote Pacific Ocean.

He says when researchers have studied the impacts of fishing, they've looked at a Pacific monument near Hawaii.

It's called Papahānaumokuākea, and it's the largest of the four marine monuments.
