She had a Leica M6 for years and shot film in that.

And then she started buying point-and-shoots and she has a Contax T2 and all these different things, right? And she'd shoot film here and there.

The bad news? He wouldn't be able to take his prized camera with him to outer space for the upcoming mission.

He wanted to take his personal Hasselblad 500C.

but the problem was that it had leather on it, which is a material that you can't take to space.

But maybe because everyone in the room was just so uncomfortable watching Wally throw a fit, they eventually gave in and decided they'd strike a compromise.

He was the chief of photography for NASA and had a front row seat to this awkward encounter.

But had Wally not reacted the way he did, the way we see space may not have ever been the same.

When he took his outer space ready Hasselblad camera on Mercury 8, he snapped some pictures of Earth that were more proof of concept than anything else.

It took a few more missions and some convincing from Underwood.

And now I'm like, I like, I have a book project in the works where I'm traveling the interior of British Columbia and I'm going to capture old homestead and mining buildings that are still around and then tell a story about that building.

I'm shooting it on, hopefully Hasselblad hears me and they send me that darn camera they send everybody else.

But I want to shoot it on medium format film and digital.
