Harry Peglar

There's Lieutenant Irving who's important partly for forming a relationship with the Inuit woman who is nicknamed Lady Silence.

Cornelius Hickey is the main antagonist and then there's also Chief Petty Officer Harry Peglar and the subordinate officer steward John Bridgins.

They both have a minor part in the narrative.

Now Bridgins is extremely well read and wise and the oldest man on board and he's clearly content with his own station.

Peglar is much younger and has served with Bridgins in the past And I'm sure the two of them have had a romantic relationship.

But importantly, this isn't something they bring to see.

And Simmons takes a lot of care to avoid that stereotype.
