And especially when I was going through the trenches of grief, um, it just happened to be when we were filming the show, so it was, like, hard for me to...

in general or reading that book, where it's just like, you know, the self-sabotage is the end game, but what causes it in a way that, like- Actually invokes change

... taking it all in and then going, "Holy fuck." I remember, um, the two dates that we had, and I looked to the producers.

I was like, "I, I can't...

Like, I legitimately cannot do this.

Like, I, I'm trying my best here." And, and I felt like with Danelle on our date, like I'm taking away from her experience.

Like, she's first time in New Zealand.

This is so exciting, and well, it's meant to be a beautiful day, but I just couldn't.

It was.

No, you were tired.

I was, the thing is, I was running on fumes.

And towards the end of the night, like, some of the conversations, like, I was just, like, slurring.

'Cause I was that zapped.

But they would only give me one drink an hour.

I saw one of the girls posted a TikTok saying, "He had alcohol in his room." I'm like, they would...

There's 400 cameras in my room and a microphone.

Oh.

It's crazy.

Um, no, this one was...

It was so...

Like, I just...

I remember going... 'Cause the, the big reason behind, uh, why I wanted to get married was when my dad had passed, and he went through with his sister dying.

And I was in the room with my sisters and their husbands and their kids.

[laughs]

... at the center of it.

Yeah.

Basically, what happened was my old man, when he was, uh, crossing over to the other side, I was there with all my sisters and their kids.

And basically, I was just like, "Oh my God.

I wanna have this for my mom," and like, my f- my life.

Like, I would love to have a family.

And once I got back to LA, I get a call from Netflix.

[laughs]

But I gotta believe that you want this.

Yeah, so I, uh...

Unfortunately when my dad crossed over to the other side, I was, uh, with him in those final days and I filmed a ton of videos for like future wife and kids and like just him talking to them like he was there, which was really nice.

And um, obviously watching someone die is like the hardest thing anyone can go through, especially a parent.

But I was there with my sisters and their husbands and their kids and I was like, "Fuck, like I really wish that I had this to show for, like show him," before he went over.

So I think in, you know, any person's life if they lose a parent it really reroutes you.

How did you go from there to, like, getting into reality TV?

I think dating 20 people in any way, shape, or form is, uh, incredibly stressful.

Um, and 20, like, very, you know, unique personalities and different personalities.

It was a lot.

Like, some people would just spawn in, and I'm like, "Uh, were they here the whole time?" Like, I-

I think dating 20 people in any way, shape, or form is, are incredibly stressful.

Like, it was really, like, the first few days trying to figure out who's who.

Um, like, because of the environment like that, you're being forced to, to talk and to communicate and to hang out, so it was gonna happen organic- or not, not organically, but it was, it was gonna happen.

They were gonna make it happen.

So I'm re- like, I think that's where it got a bit scary, 'cause I was, again, I'm like, "Oh, my God." When people will be going home, they'd be crying and I'd be, "Oh, f- like, feel like I'm being torn apart 'cause I'm like, I don't wanna do that." I just, like, early, like, in my early 20s, I would've dreamed to be in a house with 20 girls-

Yeah.

Where is, before, um, this show came to be, 'cause you are, people always say dating in LA is not really that fun, were there any spots, like, do you have advice for people dating in LA of places to go, or- Honestly, no ... a Netflix show? I just think, yeah, go on Netflix.

This is a no."

Yeah.

I think it's someone who doesn't have, like, goals or, like, big dreams.

Like, for me that's kind- that's really deflating.

Like, just someone who's happy.

And it's good for some people, but people that like to sit at home and just wanna just exist, like, that's cool for you, but I wanna be with someone that, like, I'm excited to be around, and, like, to see them achieve their biggest dreams gets me so excited.

And I think, like, that's probably why this is, like, better than The Bachelor is, 'cause I can...

[laughs]

Yeah, 'cause they send a li- they're like, "Oh, Harry," like, before I went to go film the show, like, "Who would you want at your wedding?" And I was like, I just sent a f- like, a crazy list of my friends, and then I threw in a few, like, random celebrities just to see.

And they were like, they're halfway through filming, they're like, "Hey, you didn't put a email beside, like, Criss Angel, or, like, a number.

Like, is there someone we could reach out to?" I was like, "Uh, I don't know.

Can you Google it?" And they're like, "You don't know him?" I'm like, "Well, no, I don't, but I just think it'd be good to have a magician-

So, so if we wanna go off, uh, that's my average, between seven and 30 days, six months.

You know, I think h- I think time doesn't exist in love.

What's changed?

Well, um, it was a really sad time.

Uh, my dad went through with this, uh, dying.

He had ter- terminal illness.

So when I was there with my sisters and their kids, and seeing them have that support system and talking to him, like, I filmed so many videos for my future wife and kids with him to be, like, like, piece to camera telling them exactly what they need to hear.

So it was, it was that moment, I think, you know, losing anyone, um, really changes your life.

But losing a parent was the hardest thing I've ever gone through.

Do you find it's hard, though, to actually get serious on a reality TV show rather than just meeting somebody through friends or at a bar or wherever you would otherwise?

Mm-hmm.

Um, and he, he thought, like...

The idea got dropped on him I think by my eldest sister, and he was like, "Okay, I didn't know that was an option," and then went into that process of, like, figuring it out.

And then it takes about a month minimum, because they have to have the initial meeting.

My dad would call him the death doc.

Had the initial meeting with the, the death doc, and then they, they kind of do all their paperwork to make sure that, like, hey, they have to check with the hospital, check all the records, and make sure everything-

[laughs]

But we, um, I remember we sat down for an hour and a half, and he was so exhausted by the end of it, and I was like, "Please, just like li- give me a little, little bit more." But it was kinda the big point of why I did Let's marry Harry, 'cause that, seeing the love w- w- like in his last moments of him talking about my mom and, and life and all that stuff, I was like, "Fuck, like, it'd be so good to have that." But then also I'm, like, seeing my sisters and their husbands and their kids and everything that they get to go home to, and like all that stuff, like how special that is.

Right.

Yeah, I think two things can be true.

Like, I feel like, you know, people aren't, you know, they're not silly.

They're like, okay, if I go on a show, there's potential for my life to change and followers or whatever else.

So I think like, that's obviously very attractive thing to go for.

And hopefully, like they enjoyed me enough to kind of sign up for this publicly and to be there publicly.

So I feel like there was what it's an early on, you see, there's a few girls that are there for the wrong reasons, and they kind of get cut out quite quickly.

But do these girls meet the real Harry?

You were going through a lot of stuff.

Yeah.

Yeah, so, like, those shows, it's, like, kinda the point of it is to do that and be wild.

But I'm like, "I'm not doing any more dating shows." And then when this one came around after losing my dad, I was like, "Okay, this is it.

This is a serious one." And so many great people worked on it, and so many cool people were part of it.

How open are you?

Yeah, on, on this there was really nothing that, uh, was off limits.

Um, when they were doing the interview process for my family, and obviously everyone in my life, like, they interviewed everyone.

I said, "I wanna give it everything that I have." Obviously, I think the scariest part was bringing my family in on this, because this is not their world.

They didn't sign up for this.

Um, but I didn't wanna cut any corners with this.

Um, and on the show I really poured everything I had into it.

So it begs the question, how many people are in this for you and falling in love with you, or just being on TV?

It's mental warfare.

It's...

And some people really, it, there's some people it's like you need to never be on a show 'cause it's not easy.

'Cause you, you actually can't trust anyone.

Like, you don't have your friends, you don't have your family, and you sure as fuck can't trust the producers.

'Cause, like, they're gonna say things, whether good or bad, it's to benefit the storyline and it's to get what they need out of you.

Like, it's very, it's very fascinating now that I've done a ton of them that I'm like, "Oh, okay," like, thank God I, like, was carefree early on and, like, didn't really, like, think about anything too much.

What do you think allowed you then to thrive in that environment?

Yeah, that's actually, that's really nice.

Yeah, I got lucky that one of my friends, Amanda Kloots, she was on Dancing.

Oh, yeah.

And she is involved with this company, Internevo, which is, this is full plug for them.

But, yeah, if you can turn the ashes into a diamond.

And I literally got it yesterday, and I was, like, feeling weird about wearing it.

But I'm like, oh, I have them close to my heart.

I remember this, and I shouldn't have read it, but I remember this one card said I was gonna, they were gonna put dead rats in my mom-Like, it was obviously-

The fact they put me in their bio for, like, a week or two weeks.

Anyway, um, so someone did, like, a blind item to DeuxMoi and it was like, "Harry J- I work at a PR agency.

Harry J is..." He's, like, picked up a, flowers and a Bentley and he's, like, going...

'Cause I think they saw me post it.

They're like, "Oh, he's, he's, uh...
