And I'd love to talk about just the aesthetic of this film and the rhythm of the film and the visuals and just, you know, those conversations that you're having with your key departments, especially your DP and, and making each shot feel very specific and, in particular to each character and there's there's one shot that I keep thinking of it's with with Bodo and it's when he's having a little moment in his trailer and it just feels like we're on this like wave with him we're kind of like rocking with him and you're just kind of that headspace with him of like he just wants to be on the water and he's having a moment um but I yeah I just love to talk about just how big movie feels for such an intimate story and how how you got there It's a big question.

First of all, I did like a month of prep, just like, I guess, from the director's perspective, I want to say, because up until that point, Dakota and I were really writing this thing every day and making rewrites and rewriting.

that's when we kind of split a little bit and went, okay, Dakota, you're going to do the acting thing.

And like, he took some courses and he went and, um, worked with Emmanuel a lot and was doing rehearsals.

And I was like shot listing every day and, and talking to various heads of department about, you know, the, the style and the vibe and, and the tone is as well.

And peanut butter Falcon was a big like inspo for us.

to these real life figures, these people, if any, and, and just those kinds of conversations you're having with him, Harrison, to, you know, where do you take it? How, how over the top do you go or, you know, how subtle do you make this, this, you know, the sickness basically and portraying that and how that carries across the camera? Yeah.

if you even go before that, Rayden was gonna put in some money.

He had, like, I forgot how much.

It wasn't a lot, but it was, like, 10 or $20,000 that he was willing to say, "I really wanna make this," and so he... we were gonna just do it that way And then Dakota had met, um, another financier- Yeah, that's right ... that, like, loved the idea, and he was like, "Well, if you guys get a big star or something, then I'll kick in the other, like," I think it was 60,000.

So we, yeah, we had, like, nearly 100,000 to make the short at, at, at, at a certain point.
