All of that stuff, right? Um, and these songs were created, one, as a response, but also out of necessity.

And in some ways it, it's like it was surprising, but in other ways it's not.

I mean, it's a very interesting, this is a very interesting track, right? Because it's like the original version, the Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes one is on an album that is very much, you know, all about sort of, I don't want to say it's necessarily political, but it's very much sort of a, like, you know, socially aware, socially conscious album.

Now it, but like, you know, on its face, you can certainly read the lyrics as being a, you know, rather typical love song, breakup song kind of, but then, but like just the fact that they included on that album gives it kind of a, a gravitas.

And then, you know, and then the, the version that would go on to become the, probably the standard Thelma Houston is kind of the same thing, right.
