I mean, the

people who created Rock Band, Harmonix, ever since that game has come out, they keep coming back in different incarnations because they were bought by EA, I think, and then they got split apart, and I think some of the people went to another place.

So there's been a number of people trying to reboot this franchise in the past.

I mean, if you think about it, there's basically an entire generation of video game consoles that missed out on this, or maybe two generations at this point that missed out on the rhythm game fad that was kind of like 20 years ago.

This DJ Hero 3 prototype was very much a pitch build.

The other thing, just music in general, I'm sure you've heard about this, but just in case you haven't, have you heard about Stage Tour coming out at the end of the year? So for those of you that love your Guitar Hero and Rock Band, myself included, they're coming out with a new game with new instruments, I might add, although I think the old instruments are still compatible, called Stage Tour.

It's a bunch of the people from either Harmonix or... a bunch of people that did rock band and or garage or guitar hero

i've actually been watching it pretty closely it is the people from red octane and the people from never soft and the people like essentially what it is is how it's been explained in the things i've seen is sort of a murderer's row of everyone that worked on all of the five fret rhythm games the Like all of them have come together because they were what was left when they were looking for people.

Everybody that was like, no, no, I worked on, you know, Guitar Hero 1 and 2 and then went to Rock Band.

So they own Harmonix, who did it from, I believe, Guitar Hero 2 onwards.

No, Harmonix was Rock Band, I think.

They were very much kind of based around, look, going back to the kind of the early Guitar Hero thing where...

Because it's made by people who did their time at Harmonix and...

Red Oxane and places like that and they were like the thing that makes those games really expensive apart from the plastic tat is paying the rights to the musicians which is why they're going back to doing it like OG Guitar Hero way where they're like cover versions basically rather than the original stuff which you know what it's fine like you can yell along to Journey or whatever just as well if it's a cover version rather than the real thing So, yeah, but the fact that there's this kind of concurrent development thing or concurrent evolution where there are two separate efforts to kind of bring it back.

And I think it's very much going to depend on who, for whom the flame still burns, which means that they've still got some plastic guitars stashed in their loft somewhere.

This is kind of a spiritual successor, I guess, to Guitar Hero.

Is it some original Harmonix devs? What's going on here with Stage Tour, Jeremy?

yeah so i i actually i so this is i guess this is coming to switch to because i think i saw that the hardware the hardware is also coming to switch to but it's coming later i guess oh

Basically, yeah, the original developers of Guitar Hero, Red Octane, well, I believe the story is that they got Harmonix to develop it for them.

But basically, some of the original design team is on this.

So Red Octane was not purchased or acquired by somebody? No.
