Harley-Davidson Pan America

So, even though there's a new revolution engine that came out, because the revolution engine that we have on our bike is the original revolution engine.

Then we have the Revolution Max, which is a new Revolution engine that's on the Pan America and the Sportster and a couple of other bikes.

Most people seem to think, oh, it's just, it's a rebuild of the original.

No, it's a whole redesign from the ground up.

Yeah, it has some of the essence.

know the same pedigree but it's not the same engine but they took what they learned off of that one and brought it over to the new one that's why you have a pan america that you know you've seen some of those pan americas take off those things pretty damn quick makes you wonder though

why don't they just continue the v-rod with this new engine

that's an interesting concept yeah they've been asked many times in the group well you know if they were if they would rebrand or remake the v-rod would you buy one I probably will.

What an incredible time we had up there.

On the way there, I got to do about four days in the Ozarks, ripping off road on the Pan Am.

Super fucking wicked, man.

they will at some point you know most bikes people can barely outride their motorcycles you know like Like, it always cracks me up with suspension.

And I am fixing to upgrade my suspension on that Pan Am, but most people can't outride their stock suspension components, you know? I can

outride my Springer and hardtail on my Panhead.

Like that's why I need to make a list.

Cause I'm leaving Sunday and I'm putting the chopper and the Pan Am on my truck and driving to Arkansas.

I'm doing four days off road and then go back to the truck and then get on the chopper and ride to Kansas city.

And packing for those two trips, like, you know, two different types of trips on two.

That wasn't a total loss for them because then you fast forward a few years and that's kind of the big brother of the Pan America engine.

The Rev Max is kind of the bastard stepchild of the motor that was in the V-Rod.

But I think Harley's initial investment, because they worked with Porsche on that motor, was somewhere around $50 million.

No, but this it's shark something or other.

And you know, who bought them was the window company out of South Dakota clockworks bought this fairing company in Minnesota.

But, but it's, it's some, I don't remember what it's called, but that's what that fairing looks like to me is, is that it is that design at least that they put on a, um pan america right and then they they uh redid a number of things on it but they essentially made they made what would be a pan america and a road glide if they had sex and and had a baby that would be the bike right yeah oh yeah that's that's what it looks like and and it's

You may know him from, well, multiple builds.

One that I'll never forget is when he put the Pan Am motor in the FXR frame.

And that's when I first met him at one of the Sons of Speed races out in Daytona.

Since then, we've grown.

the whole idea of the trip was, um, I'd done the Colorado BDR multiple times on the way to Sturgis, and I wanted to do something different, a challenge, if you will.

And I'd been told that there was a stretch of the Utah BDR, which I'd been wanting to do for a long time, that...

I'm like, man, you know, like I really could.

I mean, if I didn't, if I, if I didn't just buy my Pan America and I, and I really wanted to like build out a bike again, I mean, right now, if I was going to, I, I would keep my Pan America for the touring bike and I would sell my road King and I would get that fucking bike and I would build it out just like we talked about.

And I don't think I would put a fairing on it.

I think I might put a, just a big fucking billboard windshield on it.
