Sometimes it was a sit-down Hard Drivin' or Star Wars, and sometimes it was the beautifully suburban but frustrating Paperboy.

goodness so yeah you you mentioned yeah you mentioned you Suzuki like I was writing down with some a lot of the games we were talking about I was like writing who directed a lot of these games I'm like okay they're mostly all you Suzuki and and the studio Sega am2 is like the studio that did a lot of these model series games so is there any any other context about Sega am2 you'd want to add or like basically it is was headed by you Suzuki right

right so once uh hang on and uh space harrier become like their big games he's basically given a lot of leeway into like you know and access to like a lot of uh staffing and uh support to like do all kinds of wacky uh cutting edge arcade stuff so the uh the model series kind of evolves from that it was the era of like hey we could uh get in on the polygons Namco was also tinkering with this they beat Sega to the punch I think it was the Namco arcade models numbering is weird because they'll say it's like the system 11 and then that's like four different distinct models of it and like you're like the one that's the later is way different from the one that's earlier but they consider it the exact same hardware which I always found was weird but But they did release a game called Winning Run, and if I remember right, the machine that used was used previously by Atari for a different game called Hard Driving.

There's a new car- core for Atari's Hard Drivin' arcade game, which I played so much in the arcades as a kid 'cause I loved driving and anything to do with wheels and driving, and it had a clutch and a manual shifter.

yeah yeah yeah well let's i mean let's look at the charts because that's a good place to start in terms of contextualizing what's going on in uh games which i suppose is the meat of this isn't it on page 15 like number one i don't know where's microprose f19 stealth fighters and microprose like a huge like sim company weren't they but kickoff two number three is probably the one that i know the most or Oh, yeah, hard driving.
Steve McNeilGUEST
