And I hadn't realized that I had just completed my 20th boating season with the town of Plymouth as a harbor master until I actually said it out loud.

And I was a little shocked because I had no clue.

you know, going through that season that it was my 20th, that was kind of the impetus of starting to think, like, what does my future look like? You hear that 20-year mark, and you're like, okay, what's next? I've always been an advocate of training.

I actually chaired the Harbor Master Training Council, which is the state-appointed council that develops training for all Harbor Masters statewide.

So definitely honed my skills as a Harbor Master, but I think this next step was kind of like, well, let me make sure I'm an effective manager and leader, not just for this job, but what could I see myself pursuing in the next 20 years? So the MMA Suffolk Certificate Program, I looked at that as sort of the first step.

I was like, let me go through this certificate program and ultimately then I'll know if I want to go back to school and get my master's in public administration.

Went through the program down in Barnstable, met a lot of really great people that we got to know over the 25 weeks.
