Happy Tree Friends

It might have been a little bit after my time.

I remember the Happy Tree Friends.

Yeah, the Happy Tree Friends is hilarious.

Did

I send you the picture I found? It's a Polish preschool that has the Happy Tree Friends all around the entrance, and I'm just like, do they know? Do they know? Do the kids come back? I have to wonder.

Oh, but Pico School was a game on Newgrounds where there was a school shooting happening, and you were the only kid who knew, and you had to kill all the shooters and save the school.

That's...

Everything was very cartoonish.

It was sort of like, does anyone remember that early aughts cartoon called Happy Tree Friends? It was pretty disturbing.

Anyone remember that? It was where all of these furry woodland animals would die these freakishly violent deaths and you'd watch it play out.

And that just was the show.

And probably halfway through the effort, I started having like auditory hallucinations and those turned into like visual hallucinations and those turned into like very real like character creation type experiences.

And the vibe of the hallucination changed from like Have you ever seen like Happy Treehouse Friends? That's I don't know why that came up.

Okay.

It's a it's a hilarious YouTube bit about like cute treehouse friends who like end up murdering each other accidentally.

But it's really menacing, the idea that these cartoon cute little characters...

I don't know if anyone remembers the Tree Friends, was it? Those little cute bears and critters.

They were very dark.

And the idea that they can self-cannibalise to become stronger is horrifying.

In July of 2021, a district court in St. Petersburg banned the distribution of Akira along with, and you will not guess the next two things that were also banned along with this.

happy tree friends which was the ultra violent web animation hit of the early internet days and the other one was direct to dvd and streaming movie mortal combat legends scorpions revenge

are we are we

scorpions revenge only that one

it was funny but you couldn't do a game like that today even though they try to do like really offensive stuff like in Grand Theft Auto right

I mean did you watch Happy Tree Friends back in the day

oh yeah like stuff was just violent dude Ren and Stimpy yeah Ren and

Stimpy was so inappropriate I didn't watch Ren and Stimpy out of my house

It's always really fun when they do have this kind of like mascot horror.

And it goes back to things like Happy Tree Friends and, um, even like The Boys and Gen V played around with this a little bit with like killer hand...

Like, uh, with the gruesome like hand puppet scenes and stuff like that.

Yeah.

Oh, yeah.

Well, this week CI Lopez says, "Let's minimize that stigma." And Toby13 says, "Is Happy Tree Friends safe for children to watch?" Thanks, Toby, for watching.

And, eh, I liked it, but no, absolutely not.

Happy Tree Friends is not meant for your children, parents.

Please.

But I enjoyed it when I was a kid.

But be sure to leave a comment on my videos and I might even mention yours at the end of the show.

And actually, please don't show your kids Happy Tree Friends, please.

It's, uh...

Think, uh, think, like, um, in terms of its gore and its comedy, think of, um, like, like "Happy Tree Friends."

Right, okay.

[chuckles]
