Happily Divorced

uh for me but they said well we're going to run this run it anyway the the story and I and they said do you want to say anything and I said no and I asked Fran and she said you know just say we love each other we support each other and everybody should live their authentic life um which I did and they turned that into um Fran Drescher outs her gay husband which, you know, we had a good laugh at.

But we were selling a TV show around that time called Happily Divorced about our relationship, me coming out as gay.

And I think, you know, that sort of helped it get sold because it was like, you know, Oprah had us on after that article came out.

The article was out there.

All this sort of like came into the, around us while we were trying to sell this show.

And the next thing we know, they bought it.

As far as Happily Divorced, was it a conscious choice to sort of poke fun at your situation? How did that manifest?

Well, Fran had had a meeting with the head of TV land at the time.
