Hank Haney

And then I sell that.

So I'm Hank Haney with all the products.

And then Golf Town, you go to Golf Town, it's my face

everywhere on all the training products.

Y'all enjoy.

And the great thing is, because of what he did, and Hank Haney did a lot of that too, you know, I have a job.

They laid the groundwork and made it happen to where you could actually beat just a golf instructor versus having to run the golf shop and the tournaments and the merchandise and the carts and do all that.

And there were guys that were great at that.

The guy was a beast, running, working out.

Some could argue he probably overtrained a little bit, training with the Navy SEALs from what, uh, Hank Haney accounts in his book.

Doesn't sound like it was super helpful, uh, and could have led to some serious knee issues.

But at the end of the day, we cannot deny the massive impact that Tiger has had on fitness and how that impacts your mental game and your brain.

But then it's only one birdie to make up for that, not two to double or triple right there.

So if we take the big numbers out of play, which I remember Hank Haney telling me that years ago, if we just take the doggone big numbers out of play, your scores will come down immensely.

So that's kind of what this, you know, patterns and the right side of the pen and so on and so forth do, is it helps take, for the average guy, big numbers out of play.

So

And where does that take you?

Took me back to Golf Digest, looked up all the coaches in the world, the best coaches, found the top three, um, called Butch Harmon, Hank Haney, David Leadbetter.

The only one to call me back was Hank Haney.

So I went out to Dallas, Texas.

Dad gave me a pile of money and said, "Hey, go for it." [laughs]

Yeah, you gotta find it.

You gotta scratch that itch.

And so I went back out to Dallas again, started my career as a teacher for Hank Haney Golf Ranch, where I was, uh, before taking lessons.

And in a lot of ways, based off of his quote unquote previous swing, not being good for his longevity.

I mean, that was Hank Haney.

You could argue Haney caused a lot of these injuries, but Tiger also won 30 times or something with Hank Haney and I think half of his majors.

But he was also younger in his prime.

I think you can argue it a lot of different ways, but I would have argued if he wanted longevity and if he wanted something that was good for his body, I think he should have gone back to Butch Harmon at that point.

That sounds good.

Tough to watch.

Very tough.

You know, theories that Butch was, was getting too famous, too big, taking credit.

Um, and so, um, Tiger moves on, and Tiger, you know, uh, you know, somewhere m- i- in, in his mind would say, "I'll, I'll win with Hank Haney's swing.

I'll win with Sean Foley.

I'll win with Chris Como." Um, and he's a tinkerer.
