in 1978 on a hit record like he didn't have drums so loud and have fills and i just thought that this i thought it was fantastic but i was not i was in a way i was not going to get suckered into buying an album because i really thought this band's too scattered i love these songs they play on the radio like uh one way or another and uh hanging on the telephone i heard these songs on the radio and i was going oh this is great but i i don't know there's something there's something right and then they kind of moved away from that they kind of went up to parallel lines with their kind of punk new wave music a little bit artsy and then they moved on their next album eat to the beat they started to get a little bit more arty and then they moved in another direction on their next album and i hated the song the tide is high from auto american i'm just like fuck i hate that song and i didn't really like call me uh from the american gigolo and i thought that they were just a singles band and i thought that their singles were really not attract me they were getting too smart for their own good i thought for my taste like all of a sudden they got horns and the tide is high and they're rapping and never heard rap before oh yeah and then rapture had rap and i just thought you know this is this is not my thing And so when I was picking this album, I said, I hope this is good.

I said, I know what I'm getting in the first two albums because I've listened to them.

But I'm not a big enough fan of Blondie to buy their other albums.
