For sure I mean I'm definitely having a good time with a lot of the albums That we are going to talk about today I've also been having a good time because earlier I believe it was right after we recorded Last week's new show I went out to see Evanescence At the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester It was the first time that I had seen Evanescence Since you and I Sam went to see them At the Hammersmith Apollo in 2017 So A good old period of time passing and i don't know if you've noticed all those new metal bands are insanely massive now so going along to uh you know it's interesting we could be spoken about this phenomenon with you know corn and deftones most obviously but i was sort of wondering how much of that is also you know playing into what's going on with evanescence because uh they were playing i said the cop live in in manchester which is as you probably know the biggest arena in the country And it was...

Let's not say purely because, but certainly it's played a profound role in the venue.

I'm well aware that the Hammersmith Apollo is iconic, but surely in the eyes of comedians, live at the Apollo has taken that venue to another stratosphere.

So I said to one of the runners, Callum, Thank you.

But before I went on, I said to one of the rumours, I was like, mate,

My dad was a big Simon and Garfunkel fan, and they were both Beatles fans.

And they both saw The Beatles at Hammersmith Odeon in 1964.

the earliest memory probably in terms of what I inherited from them.

Whereas the Tube had an audience that felt a bit more music fan like.

And so I guess the dream for them was to have the people that look cool in the front row and then bolster the back of the crowd with the people who just look pleased to be there.

So you've had your Beatles upbringing from your mum and dad and the legendary stories of the Hammersmith Odeon.

You've fallen in love around the age of five with the sweet and the glam rock sound.

I suppose that that kind of sticks in my mind, yeah.

We ask the question because it's a kind of, everyone says that, you know, growing up, you go with your pals pretty much.

One of my greatest concert memories, probably in my top five.

was seeing Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Nils Lofgren and his band at the Hammersmith Odeon on a double bill that was mind-blowing.

And it was Tom Petty's first tour of America, and he was absolutely fantastic.

And I always wanted to do an interview.
