Hämeenlinna

By the end of the war, approximately 80,000 red prisoners were held in camps across Finland.

The largest were in Viipuri, Helsinki, Suomenlinna, Hämeenlinna, Riihimäki, Kotka, Tammisaari and Lahti.

In mid-May, the Landtag established special temporary courts for crimes against the state.

These courts, each with five members, two jurists, one military officer and two civilians, were tasked with trying Red prisoners.
