Halloween II

it.

So I'm going to throw out here is where I'm going to throw out Rob Zombie's Halloween 2.

Veto.

Okay, perfect.

I did a very ethical

oobing.

Cam, you could have picked Rob Zombie's Halloween 2.

I did ethical oobing.

And I know for someone like me, who is often resistant to Rob Zombie movies, I still find this one an absolute banger.

So we're talking Halloween 2 from 2009, directed by Rob Zombie.

And because we're talking about a vulgar auteurist, of course I had to bring Maeve back on the show.

How's it going, Maeve?

I think it's my number two of the year so far behind Possible Love.

Anyways, apologies for the weebs sidebar, and apologies for the inevitable upcoming NFL sidebar.

But, like, our discussion on, like, you know, adaptations in the 2000s, it kind of gets to what, where Halloween 2007 is heard of, because, like, this was, 2000 seemed to be, sorry, something I know is...

In the 2000s, there seemed to be a big uptick in the grittier reboots, like the Battlestar Galactica's The Batman Begins, where you take something, an older property that people liked, and give it a darker spin to it.

Timeline four, the Rob Zombie universe.

is Halloween 2007, which was just a remake, and then Halloween 2009, which was another remake.

I don't need to go more into those.

Last one, 40 years later timeline.

Or actually, the 4, 5, and 6, I think.

But yeah, we're going to be doing Halloween 2007 and Halloween 2 from 2009.

So we're going to get into that here in a moment.

We're just going to take a quick break.

baby sister.

To do what?

Halloween 2007, written and directed by Rob Zombie.

This is the first time we've covered him on this podcast.

We have Halloween movies from 1 to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Halloween HBO, Halloween Resurrections, Rob Zombie's Halloween 1, Rob Zombie's Halloween 2, and Carpenter's Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends from these past five years.

The 2020 editions, basically.

So these three movies.

He's like 15.

Halloween 2 is such an interesting movie.

I would like to revisit that this year because in 2023...

I went back and I watched and reviewed all the Halloween movies that I had on DVD.

And I remember that I really enjoyed Halloween 2.

I think I probably said this last year when we ranked them.

Last time I saw Halloween 2, I did not like it as much as I remembered liking it.

Yeah, it definitely isn't as...

And then the last two things that I watched was for Straightjacket Talk.

We did Rob Zombie's Halloween and Rob Zombie's Halloween 2.

Double feature.

Oh, man.

But yeah, I don't remember liking it as much as I did in high school, but it was still fun at times, especially with the gore and the effects.

And yeah, I'll throw it over to you, Kevin.

Did you want to say anything about your thoughts on Halloween and Halloween 2 by Rob Zombie?

Yeah, I just kind of want to echo what you said.
