The Indian River Lagoon dolphins will move into the Halifax River.

They'll even travel a little bit further north.

But for the most part, they're gonna have a pretty small home range-

And that brings us to the very dark waters of the Halifax River in Florida.

I want you to picture this scene because it sets the stage for everything we are going to dissect today.

So the day starts with a plan that seems totally normal, almost cliché really for a Florida couple.

Thomas plans to take Crystal out on his boat on the Halifax River for the evening.

And we really need to talk about the specific boat he chose for this evening because the vehicle itself is a critical piece of evidence regarding his intent.

And he ran maybe something like a mile a minute, some phenomenal speed like that.

But my world was surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the Halifax River, which is a lagoon of the Atlantic Ocean, and a large wooded area in which there were Huckleberries, wild grapes, and rattlesnakes.

A very happy combination.

And live oaks dripping moss, I suppose.

The first eight days of my stay in Daytona were so delightful that I felt as if I had never before seen fine weather, even in my dreams.

My east window looked across the Halifax River to the Peninsula Woods.

Beyond them was the ocean.
