And even he tried to repent as the years went on.

Guy Hunt was a tent revival preacher who was so crooked.

He was the first Republican governor to be elected to the governor's office in Alabama since before the Civil War.

And I don't know that he lasted an entire term before he was indicted for the crook that he was using the state aircraft to fly to his tent meetings and pass the plate.

When it finally ended, the state, you know, it took a while.

You have your first Republican governor in 86 with Guy Hunt.

But that was sort of the beginning there.

And the state changes political stripes over time.

What would a Doug Jones governorship look like? Now, we've had divided government before in this state.

We've had, you know, Bob Riley, Bob James, Guy Hunt as Republican governors and Democrat-controlled legislature.

But the unfathomable, the Democrat governor and the Republican legislature, Is there going to be a lot of cooperation there? I don't know.

Is Doug Jones, whose brand went from the kind of moderate old school Democrat to just like defiantly anti-Trumpism and, you know, everything that Trump does is dumb, including the National Guard.

You know, those were conservative Democrats who had voted Democrat all their life.

And just to teach the Democrat Party better manners, they elected Guy Hunt.

And if Republicans think that can't happen to them, they've lost their minds.

Yeah, it's got to happen within the Republican Party.
