And so I used to go down to the Gaeltacht in Connemara.

There's a couple of pockets, of which Gweedore, of course, is one where Cahill and Murray are from, where Irish is spoken as the first language.

And so kids from Dublin would go down to summer school there, maybe spend a month down in the Gaeltacht to learn the language.

So on one occasion when I was down there, I encountered it in the wild for the first time, traditional music, that is, when I met the O'Briens from Coolock.

Like, the, the other path just wasn't, wasn't good.

Um, I doubt I would've been playing for Gaoth Dobhair for, for much years long after, the way, the way things were going now.

Um, and when you think about, when you talk about it like that, I was so, so lucky, and it's, it's actually, it's actually answers where, it was I heard Harsh Devlin on, and he talked about, he was on with YouSpace, and he talked about how lucky he was to be in good, good teams, and I would totally dispute that.

I think it's no coincidence.

Because when that conversation, when all those conversations, I'm right in saying yous were all kinda, yous were all still living at home or you and Neil were certainly still living at home at that time.

Yeah, we, we were still living at home at that time.

Like, and, and so how much of it for you and your desire and, and your form, as you say, for Gaoth Dobhair in the, in the 2011 into 2012, and how much of that was, did you see an impact on him of what he was doing with Donegal around the house in terms of, like, how he was changed or how it, how it changed everything around him?

I did.

It's a staggeringly beautiful piece of music which moves me in ways I can't explain.

The story of Clannad begins in 1970 in the remote parish of Gweedore located in County Donegal, Ireland.

The band was born as a family affair, consisting of siblings Ciaran, Pol and Moir Brennan, alongside their twin uncles Noel and Pordrig.

Initially performing under the name Clannad's Dower, they shortened their moniker to Clannad in 1973.

And it was a good point.

And, you know, my feeling is no matter where you are in Ireland, you could be in Gweedore, you could be, you know, Wexford, Waterford, you could be anywhere.

If you have a broadband connection and the ambition to do something.

There's no reason why, you know, location has anything to do with your success.

Craw, yeah, amazing.

So filming in Gweedore for nine weeks.

Brilliant.

It was great.

We all call him Gillespie.

And he's doing great work promoting the islands and promoting roads and different things down about Gweedore.

And you couldn't pay them for the work they do.

And I think it should be a full time job.
