Speaking of sticking your tungsten to the plate, you know, it's like how, if someone has never TIG welded before, how do you describe the process?

If somebody's never TIG welded before and maybe they've got an understanding of welding in general, well, we know that we're melting the base metal.

Sometimes we're adding a material or not.

That added material is coming in with an outside filler metal, but our torch or that tungsten is our heat source.

So in some cases, the heat or the electricity is going to jump across the gap.

We call it the arc gap.

and go to the base metal and create a puddle.
