Presenters Katie Thistleton and Guvna B look at how parents can start age-appropriate conversations about consent even earlier with preschool-aged children, and they did it with Radio 1 DJ Charlie Hedges and child and educational psychologist Dr. Amar Ferguson.

I think the temptation is as adults and parents when we think about consent, we're framing that from an adult perspective, and that understanding of consent has been built on years of interactions and relationships that obviously young children don't have access to yet.

So I think it's really important that we get the, the framing of the s- the, the conversation, um, right.

Mm-hmm.

So then when they're feeling that discomfort, they'll internalize it rather than speak to us as adults.
