Guts

yeah.

But then classic Berserk, they take the joke and then they immediately make it horrifying because really soon after like the latest one of these, we see how far gone Guts is, right? Like Shirk tries to astrally project over at a distance.

And when her luminous body gets to Guts, the armor itself, the black dog kind of snarls at her and shoves her back so hard that it like returns her to her body.

And as it does, you know, it's getting stronger and all that.

But Guts is becoming increasingly bestial.

And we see him literally gnawing on an eyestalk of one of these slug monsters like he's like a starving animal or something.

So I wonder if we can eat them joke immediately turns gross and scary when he actually starts eating one.

Yeah, he gets called up by, I think, Roderick, saying, like, you know, he really is a beast.

Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Black Clover on air with Bleach, who I say is their predecessor when they followed that supernatural path.

Black Swordsman, Inner Demon is the strongest shit ever.

I'm trying to think.

I feel like somebody can challenge the Black Clover spot.

No, I like the fact that we've formed this team now.

Guts' group, you know, they have a bit of a repartee with each other.

I like seeing people play off each other.

And particularly some of the newer additions.

I had fun and I don't want that to be taken away or denied.

I really had fun in this arc.

We saw Guts being his badass, somewhat superpowered self.

We saw some, I generally, I think I dug the humour a bit more in this arc.

Odi?

Is it Guts?

Incorrect.

Scarlos, you had a guess?

It is not Inosuke.

Odi.

Guts.

Oh, that's a good guess, though.

Right, the dark side of that.

What does power look like in a world that is fundamentally broken, where survival requires an absolute terrifying lack of restraint? That brings us to Guts from Berserk.

Yeah.

If Kenshin is about the philosophy of restraint, Guts is about sheer unyielding survival through pure horrific force.

Just brutality.

Exactly.

He's known as the Black Swordsman, and the source material heavily emphasizes his weapon of choice, the Dragon Slayer sword.

It's less of a sword and more of a massive, impossibly heavy slab of iron.

The story of Berserk is legendary.

We follow a massive, heavily scarred mercenary named Guts, who carries a sword the size of a steel beam.

Guts is born from a hanging corpse.

His entire life is nothing but trauma and survival on the battlefield.

But eventually he finds a home.

He finds a sense of belonging and camaraderie with a mercenary group called the Band of the Hawk, led by the charismatic, brilliant Griffith.

Griffith. For the first time, Guts has friends.

He has a purpose.
