He's showing them who's boss, um, even at the cost of a, a coherent campaign.

And what he wants is a southern thrust down into U- Ukraine, or the Ukraine as it was then, which would mean diverting Guderian's 2nd Panzer Group and von Kluge's 4th Army south, which obviously that completely emasculates OKH's plan, Oberkommando des Heeres' plan, for the, for their drive on Moscow.

And they're thinking political decapitation, take the capital, you know, uh, uh, and the rest, and the rest will follow.

And there's, there's been this, there's been this, um, since December the previous year, 1940, there, there has been this sort of friction and prevarication which has resulted in prevarication about what actually to aim at, what actually they're going to do with this campaign, where the main thrust is gonna be, where the center of gravity is going to be.

And, and von Bock has also, he wanted, he believed in it also.

Von Bock is the, um, remember, he's the, he's the commander-in-chief of, um, of Army Group Center, and von Kluge is the commander of Ar- of, of, of 4th Army.

And 4th Army is originally earmarked, um, for, for, for this operation south, and Kluge is really happy about it [laughs] because he hates von Bock, and he's just desperate to get out of von, von Bock's clutches.
