Günter Netzer

Now, interestingly, Block's partner, Gerd Delling, is an extremely well-known sports reporter and TV host in Germany.

Together with German football legend Günter Netzer, who Delling is friends with.

Delling gained widespread renown for analyzing major games of the German national team on primetime TV for the public broadcaster ARD.

The current court case that they're involved in is pretty crazy.

The Dutch team of the 70s and 80s was built around and because of Johan Cruyff.

I think for a brief period, the German team was built around Gunther Netzer and possibly Franz Beckenbauer.

There have been cases of international sides being built around club sites containing a large element from one club.

But as regards building a team around one player, I think that's the sort of I think clubs can become reliant on a player, like Preston North End became totally reliant on Tom Finney, and Fulham became reliant on Johnny Haynes.
