Gulf of the Farallones

My mom, I was living in Berkeley, California at the time.

My mom had started this, um, program, this Beach Watch program, where I think the Gulf of the Farallones, National Marine Sanctuary, and some other people had organized volunteers.

This was like the early 90s, and they had volunteers all up and down the beaches of Central California, kind of doing monthly surveys of like all the birds and the wildlife at the beaches, identifying the cool dead things that were washed up on shore, things like that.

Just sort of an early citizen science project to understand what was up and down the Central California coasts.
