In addition to the Wolves series, the Armitage series, Arabella Mortimer, she was also an award-winning author and she won awards for The Whispering Mountain, which won the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize.

She also wrote adult fiction, such as the Edgar Allan Poe award-winning Nightfall.
