So yeah, I, I was just thinking, uh, um, as far as Butterbean is concerned, you know, I have Timeshift, and you can use Timeshift GTK or you can use Timeshift CLI, both of which will work fine and both, uh, serve a purpose.
D
38:33DrewHOST

Started just kicking the tires and we built up this program that a lot of people know of called the GIMP.
P

And along with the GIMP, I did a lot of the graphics library, GTK.

B
19:25Bryan LundukeHOST
Very easy to theme GTK-based UI.
B
19:31Bryan LundukeHOST
Very simple, right? And it looked good.
B

And I knew that I needed to write it in C, which I hadn't written in years.
G

And I also had to use GTK3, which also I haven't used in over 20, or I haven't done any of the front-end libraries in Linux for a couple decades.
G

And it was one of those things where it was just a one-time application, very small.

With a small errata to add on top of that video, which I've already added in the pinned comment of it, which is that disks, GNOME disks, does not ship in its GTK4 form in GNOME 51.
N
12:52NickHOST
It was listed in the early release notes that I had access to, and it was provided in GNOME OS, so I assumed this was the version they were going for, but apparently, no, it's going to be delayed.

Now apart from that, you have a ton of updates to the applications GNOME ships, you've got better frame pacing in GTK and the GNOME Shell, the reduced motion toggle does something now, you can also set custom mouse pointer acceleration profiles through Deconf, you don't have a GUI in the settings to handle it, you can also disable the touchpad when a mouse is plugged in, You have a bunch of login methods supported in the login manager, including pass keys, smart cards, and web login.
