Grumpy Old Men

And this is kind of a corny question, but I'm still going to ask it because, to be honest, this is like in top five movies of mine of all time.

Do you enjoy the movie Grumpy Old Men? And is that how Minnesota was or kind of still is in maybe some areas?

Is this the duck chugger guy that picked these questions? No.

No. Um, oh, it's a funny movie.

There was a remake.

Uh, I mean, it's a g- uh, yeah, look, I, I know, know-

Grumpy Old Men.

Grumpy Old Man is a great example.

Like, uh, even recent stuff, like I'm not gonna watch 80 for Brady, but like I'm glad that that movie was a success, you know? I'm glad-

No, but it was definitely like an HBO, like, so basic cable mainstay.

It's probably made its money back in advertising revenue alone.

Yeah, but you're to- you're, you're totally right about the Grumpy Old Men, and like I guess maybe e- to somewhat lesser extent, the kind of like late career resurgence of Robert De Niro in the Meet the Parents movies.

Yeah.

Grumpy Old Men.

Yes.

He's the Grumpy Old Men series.

Yes, yes.

I mean, that's what our generation only knows.

Uh, I wanna know who each person is in this movie.

We'll find out.

John probably would, and somehow it'd probably be the management of Walmart's fault.

Remember that movie Grumpy Old Men, and then the sequel Grumpier Old Men? Again, if you do, your knees probably snap, crackle, pop when you stand up.

But Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon spend half the movie yelling at each other, arguing about everything, and finding new reasons just to be irritated with everybody in the situation.

It's funny because we're watching it on TV, but if you have to spend eight hours a day working beside someone like Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon, that suddenly feels less comedic to me and probably more like Friday the 13th, but it's only a Tuesday.

And remember, stop complaining long enough to start doing something.

Your mind will be better for it, the people around you will be better for it, and you might discover that life isn't nearly as bad as what you thought it was.

As for me, I'm getting older, so Mandy is keeping a close eye on me for signs that I'm becoming one of those grumpy old men.

I think I'm doing pretty well, although I looked out the window this afternoon and I seen some kids playing near my yard, and then I seen Barnaby the raccoon was back last night and left cheeseburger wrappers all over my yard.

Amen.

So, who's seen the movie Grumpy Old Men? Funny movie, right? So you got grumpy old men that came out in the 90s, right? And you got two old dudes who've known each other their entire lives, and they absolutely hate each other.

And it's a comedy, right? You have two old honoree guys who don't want to change.

And at the end of the movie, they realize that their best friend in the entire world is actually the guy that's right next door who's in their lives whether they want him to be or not.
