But, like, if it's going to create a bigger space for you to throw a ball with your grandkid, and mowing it is a lot more manageable to somebody, or to hire that out, than having giant garden beds, then do what makes sense for you.

Are there any ground covers that you're actually finding as alternatives that, that thrive in just a drier climate?

Yes.

So there are, and there's been tons of, like, people researching this.

More moths, different other insects, and also the number of bird species have increased over the years.

And I know an essential part of that healthy ecosystem is ground covers.

That essential aspect of covering the ground with live plants is something that I cannot ignore.

And I have some thoughts and insights that I want to share with you on that.

I will also go over some of the ground cover plants that I have in the garden and I have experience with.

The ground cover plants, and I'm talking about native ground covers, are often do not grab our attention the same way the other native plants do.

We do not feel the same motivation, at least not right in the beginning when we are starting a garden.

And even few years into gardening, I did not feel the same way about ground covers.
