Griffin Conine

They take a 4-2 lead in the fifth.

They obviously ended up needing that fourth run today, and that was scored by Griffin Conine, who in the fifth inning works a walk against Tyler Glasnow.

After that, Otto Lopez works a walk to get Glasnow out of the game.

Then you get a hit by a pitch, and then an error scores Conine.

The other thing that I'll say that he's doing is that he's hitting the ball in the opposite field as well.

I think with that approach, again, he looks comfortable up there against lefties, and he looks a lot just balanced in the box and more confident.

So he's starting to figure that out, and it's looking bright for Griffin Conine.

It is definitely looking bright like a nice Vincent Van Gogh, as he would like it, by the way.

Uh, Marlins didn't quite make the five best hitter match-ups, but they weren't far off.

They have nothing but righties on the schedule, which is very good news for Griffin Conine, who has been hitting a lot of home runs in the second half, but is a platoon player.

Jacob Marcy's been hot.

Uh, so, uh, not as much upside as Conine, but we'll trust him to take advantage of those match-ups as well.

Then just a smorgasbord of guys between, like, 13 and 15 home runs.

Owen Casey, Griffin Conine, and then you're able to throw in there as well Joe Mack.

You've been able to get some good power as well out of Kyle Sowards, who's been in and out of the lineup all season, but a .332 on base, 18 home runs.

Salvado Lopez give you a .300 average, about 30 stolen bases.

You know, we know why they traded Liam Hicks, and it was understandable, although it was unpopular, just given how young, controllable, and talented he was.

But I think they saw it as they were trading from an area of surplus here, and it wasn't really in the sense that he was one of the few left-handed bats that did not have a strikeout-prone problem, right? He would always tend to put the ball in play, and they ended up keeping Stowers and Conine and Marcy, and credit to Griffin Conine, he's honestly been one of the better hitters in this entire team all season long.

However, I think the lineup is really missing some of that some of that contact rate that Liam Hicks did provide, along with some serious power, which he's continued to display as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays.

I think losing him, his positional versatility, playing first, playing catcher, playing DH, doing all those things, I think they're missing him hitting either third, fourth.
