Grey Gardens

So it's like shows like that.

I'm just very drawn to Grey Gardens.

stories about women.

I'm into it.

Wait, let's talk like two or three more of your favorite shows that have female stories.

So I said

Grey Gardens, Fun Home, Waitress, Violet.

Do you know that musical? No.

There's nothing that has compared to the scale of that in terms of the production and the sort of landmark moment.

But I recently got to play the Edies in Grey Gardens and that was just such a gift for an actor to be able to play Big Edie in Act 1 and Little Edie in Act 2 and play one's own mother and one's own daughter and work out the psychology of that and working with the other actors is a you know, to get the through lines of how those characters speak and walk and talk and, you know, that amazing voice that little lady has and kind of honing that, I guess, impersonation, but more importantly, the psychology behind that, that's just fascinating kind of, and they're such incredibly powerful charismatic and shameless women and the music, the score is absolutely to die for and I loved singing it.

It's incredibly challenging musically but I adored the challenge of it and I love that show.

I hope I get to do it again sometime.
